Hello! I'm Sandra Freij, Photographer and filmmaker

I’m a photographer, filmmaker, lecturer, and creative director with over 20 years of experience working across fashion, art, and advertising. Originally from Sweden and now based in London, my background spans editorial, commercial, and fine art photography, with work exhibited internationally and commissioned by brands, publications, and cultural institutions.

My visual work is often described as cinematic, emotionally driven, and atmospheric—shaped by a love of storytelling, light, and human connection. Over the years, I’ve worked across fashion, portraiture, moving image, advertising and art.

Alongside my commercial and personal practice, I am Visiting Lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

In recent years, my work has increasingly shifted towards projects with social and environmental purpose. I am Creative Director of DearTomorrow, a climate storytelling platform using personal narratives to deepen public engagement with the climate crisis, and co-founder of Parents For Future UK. Through these roles, I collaborate with artists, activists, charities, and purpose-led organisations to create campaigns and visual stories that support climate action, social justice, and cultural change.

At the heart of everything I do is a belief that creativity can be a powerful tool for transformation. As a mother of three daughters, I feel deeply committed to using my skills and experience to help imagine and communicate more hopeful, just, and sustainable futures.
